Lieutenant Governor’s Message – Bob Spurrell

Lieutenant Governor’s Message

Welcome to our 2020-2021 Kiwanis Year. My name is Bob Spurrell and I’m a member of the Kiwanis Club of Auburn, a club that was chartered in 1922. My wife Gail and I have both been Kiwanians for over 20 years. This year I have the honor of being the Lieutenant Governor for Division 32 of the Pacific Northwest District of Kiwanis International. The PNW District includes clubs from Alaska, British Columbia, Yukon Territory, Washington, Oregon, Northern California, and the Idaho panhandle.

Division 32 has 7 chartered clubs with a membership of over 200 Kiwanians. Our clubs serve communities and youth in South King County with 2 clubs in Kent, 2 in Auburn, and clubs in Renton, Federal Way and Covington.

Our clubs do countless hours of community service, raise money for youth programs and others as well as socialize together during the many events, meetings and conventions throughout the year.  Kiwanis is a way to reach out and be a positive influence on children and communities. Each club is unique and contributes in its own way. So check us out, find a club that is close by and that has a focus that aligns with your talents and interests.

Since Covid, most of our meetings and fund raisers have been done virtually. And all our community service is done following Kiwanis and CDC safety guidelines.

I’d encourage you to email a club president, ask about their club, and Zoom in for meeting. It’s easy, fun and informative. You will find links to the individual club websites here.

My theme this year for the clubs is to “Stay connected, and Remember purpose”.

Kiwanians are committed to “Serve the Children of the World” because #Kids Need Kiwanis. We’d love to have you join us!
