Kent Service Clubs Team Up for Day of Service to Celebrate Community Green River Trail cleanup collaboration part of larger international day of service Kent, Washington (October 18) —Community service is the focus of a project of Kent-based service clubs collaborating this weekend during “Celebrate Community.”  Around 75 volunteers from Kiwanis, Rotary, Lions, Aktion Club, Key Club, Interact Club, and Rotaract The initiative unites local clubs from the four major volunteer service organizations — Kiwanis, Lions, Optimist and Rotary International — to focus on joint community service projects during the week of October 10-16.  This first public effort encourages local clubs to reach out to one another to work together on projects that improve and benefit local communities.  Locally, Kent-area service clubs worked together to organize a cleanup of the Green River Trail on October 16, 2021.  Volunteers met at 9:30am to socialize over doughnuts and coffee, and cleaned the…

Lieutenant Governor’s Message – Char Grinolds

Welcome to our 2021-2022 Kiwanis Year!  My name is Char Grinolds and I have the honor of being your Lieutenant Governor for this year.  I have been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Kent AM for 12 years.   Starting this year our Division will be known as the Green River Area, we will no longer be Division 32.  This change came about as people didn’t know where the different Divisions were located, so going forward each division will have a name descriptive of their location.  My theme this year is “Just one more, one step at a time”.  My hope is that each club will prioritize what they need to do to strengthen their club and do it one step at a time.  I want every club to be successful and celebrate each step that is completed.  Remember our purpose and our commitment to “Serving the Children of the…
